Prior to joining Palladyne AI in 2025, Mr. Johnston served at Crucis, a private investment company focused on repatriating the A&D supply chain by scaling U.S manufacturing companies long-term. Before that, he transformed a $500,000 enterprise into a $58 million global operation with more than eight domestic and international sites. In 2016, he successfully sold the business to Blackstone, highlighting the value he created and his ability to drive sustainable growth.
With a dual background in engineering and finance, Mr. Johnston is recognized for his operational excellence and strategic leadership. He has consistently streamlined operations, optimized performance, and guided teams through periods of significant growth and transformation. He continues to serve as a trusted advisor and executive, leveraging his financial acumen and decisive leadership to maximize organizational impact.
